Hi friends! I hope you all are enjoying a beautiful Memorial Day weekend. I happened to come across some really amazing denim and I had to share with you!
It’s so rare that I find denim that fits well AND is comfortable. And extra bonus points if they are affordable. This pair checks all the boxes!
Here’s what to look for when shopping denim:
- Fit – There are so many shapes or “fits” out there these days. Right now, wide leg and boot cut are trending up. I find that a straight, slightly cropped fit feels very timeless.
- Fabric Thickness – Thicker fabric is especially important for white or lighter colored denim. You definitely don’t want your white denim to be see-through, and many times thinner denim fabrics can hug your body in the WRONG way and cause misleading shadowing that accentuates areas you might not want highlighted.
- Buttons/Zippers – closures like buttons and zippers should feel sturdy and durable. You don’t want a button popping off after you overindulged at a dinner out with your girls!
- Pocket Placement – placement of the back pockets can cause your butt to look AMAZING or horrible. If pockets are wider set and placed higher up, they may make your butt look flatter and bigger. Pockets that are placed on top of the highest point of your cheeks and angled slightly will round out your look and make the waist appear smaller.
- Fabric Composition – Denim is often composed of cotton blended with a bit of spandex. The higher the amount of spandex, the more comfortable the jeans will be. However, I find that the lower the amount of spandex, the more durable the denim is.
