Okay we HAVE to talk about my latest obsession. NO this post is not sponsored, but I wish it was, lol. I’m obsessed with Abercrombie lately!
I worked for Hollister/Abercrombie all throughout high school, during their peak “uncool” phase. That was nearly a decade ago, but even then, they were talking about and planning for a major rebrand. You probably remember them from the early 2000s. Teens would pack their closets full of their branded t-shirts and douse themselves in a cloud of their cologne before walking out the door. Honestly, they’ve come a LONG way!
It seems they have taken more accountability for their past mistakes and lack of diversity & inclusion. On their website they now have a tab on “purpose” right at the top of the page next to their denim and sale tabs. That really stood out to me. Typically companies will add their purpose or mission tabs way at the bottom of the screen, in tiny font. The fact that A&F puts it front and center shows their dedication to their positive, updated values.
Aside from their refreshed branding and positive missions, their clothes have had a glow up too! Gone are the days of the cheesy, self-branded t-shirts and men’s polos. Their denim has always been pushed in a huge way, but I feel like they have made great improvements in the fit and cut of each style. For women, they now offer denim in a “Curve Love” cut, which is great for women who have curves. Heck, I don’t even have ANY curves but I prefer Curve Love because it actually GIVES me more shape.
They have incredible basic, staple pieces now too. You know I’m a sucker for those!!! Bodysuits, outerwear, and matching lounge sets are some of my favorite things they offer regularly. The quality is amazing too. Everything feels like it was constructed really well and the fit design was thoroughly tested. The materials themselves (fabrics, buttons, zippers, etc.) all feel super high quality and function well.
In summary, I think they’re super competitive against stores like Aritzia now. I recently made a purchase from them and have been wearing the pieces on repeat ever since they arrived. I will link those items in the “shop it” slider below this post! I’ll continue to post photos on Instagram showing how I style everything! 💛-Cassie
