Last night I went out with some friends for dinner and drinks for the first time in a minute! We went to Condado for tacos and margaritas (rather… margarita PITCHERS 😅) and it was so good! It was one of those days where I was so busy that I didn’t eat as much as I should have, so by the time 7pm rolled around, those chips and queso hit different 😂
Have you ever been to a Condado? I usually get one veggie taco and one steak or chicken taco. Last night I got The Heater and The Dutch Dragon (V). So good!!!
After that we hopped around to a few of our other favorite spots around our city. It was in the upper 60s outside, so it was the perfect opportunity to layer up in some good denim and chunky knits. I also broke out those booties from my last post too!
I always say it’s best to dress in layers during the Fall months. Where I live, the temperature usually fluctuates between the 40s to 70s from Sept-December. Depending on if we have sunshine or not, temps can feel drastically different!
I usually start out any outfit with some good basic pieces, like a thin cotton t-shirt (long sleeve or short sleeve). From there, I might layer on some tights if I’m planning to wear a skirt or dress. I almost always gravitate towards a good pullover sweater, but sometimes I might opt for something like a cardigan or a shacket. If it’s really on the colder side, I’ll throw a lightweight trench coat over top of everything. The last thing I choose are shoes, and depending on what hemline I’m working with, I’ll either choose taller boots or shorter booties.
This formula helps me have multiple layers which are important for a couple of reasons! First of all, I sometimes overdress for events/outings (go figure). Dressing in these layers make it easy for me to take off one of the dressier top layers and strip down to a simpler cotton tee with my jewelry if needed. More obviously, the layers also help regulate body temp as the weather changes from day to night and indoor/outdoor!
My outfit from last night followed this formula too! I started with my basic, lightweight cotton turtleneck as the base. Then, I layered on a tan chunky sweater and my favorite black jeans from Zara. Since my jeans were cropped, I opted for my black heeled booties that hit a little higher mid-calf. In the car on the way to dinner, I actually got so hot that I took my sweater off before we even arrived, lol. But it was all good! I just looked super polished wearing my black cotton turtleneck and my bold gold jewelry.
