Hey everyone and happy October! Anyone else so happy that it’s Fall already?! Although I love the warmer months, I’d argue that curling up on the couch with some hot tea or cider is equally as satisfying. Speaking of tea- I picked up some delicious seasonal Autumn Harvest Blend tea from Trader Joe’s this morning. I’m always going over my weekly grocery budget by snagging their seasonal items!
Anyways, today I thought I’d share with you what I bought from TJ’s for a glimpse at what my weekly grocery trip looks like. I’ll highlight new items and my tried and true staples too!
Trying For The First Time:
- Dehydrated Coconut Strips
- Confession- I was so excited to try these that I ripped them open on my way home. And they did not disappoint! If you like coconut, you’ll be addicted to these.
- Kung Pao Tempura Cauliflower
- I tried this for lunch after I got home and TBH it wasn’t the best of the Asian food I’ve tried from TJ’s. The Kung Pao sauce was delicious, but I found the inside of the cauliflower to be a little too soft for my liking.
- Peanut Butter Protein Granola
- I actually went in wanting their Almond Butter Granola, but I’m always struggling to get enough protein in my diet so I opted for this instead- it has double the amount of protein and half the amount of sugar as the Almond Butter Granola!
- Grilled Balsamic & Rosemary Chicken
- I haven’t tried this but I’ve heard good things! It seems like an easy dinner idea. I’m also planning on making soup this week, so it may be good to shred a little bit of this and toss it in.
- Chicken Tikka Samosas
- Every year for Christmas my family celebrates with a potluck Indian feast- naan, tikka masala, the whole shabang! I decided to try these and if they’re good, they’d be a great appetizer during the holidays.
- Harissa Salasa
- I decided to pick this guy up since I have a bunch of tortilla chips I need to get rid of. I think it’s supposed to be pretty spicy!
- Harvest Blend Herbal Tea
- I already tried this and it’s great! Add some orange/lemon slices, cranberries, and a bit of honey to bring it to the next level for the holidays.
- “Raises the Bar” Chewy Granola Bar
- Have not tried these but you can’t go wrong with a good ol’ chewy granola bar, right??
Tried & True Staples
- Ciabatta Baguette
- SO yummy…a great addition to a soup or salad, which is what I’m using it for.
- Trilogy Organic Kombucha
- An absolute staple! This stuff is so good for you people!
- Organic Canned Navy Beans & Fire Roasted Tomatoes
- I’m planning on making my “everything but the kitchen sink” soup this week for lunches. Add orzo, frozen veggies, chicken stock, and ground turkey and this soup should be a breeze!
- Asian Vegetable Stir-Fry
- Planning on frying this up with a simple stir fry sauce (soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and a bit of brown sugar should do the trick). Pairing it with the frozen brown rice I picked up.
- Plain Greek Yogurt
- I usually get vanilla flavored greek yogurt, but they didn’t have it this week in the jumbo size. Will go great with my granola!
- Frozen Vegetable Melange
- Throwing this right in my soup. Any leftovers could be a great side to my Balsamic Chicken Breast.
- Green Grapes
- THEEE BEST! So crunchy and plump!
- Midwest Honeycrisp Apples
- I spent more money on apples than I usually would, but I couldn’t resist picking up this huge bag- tis the season for crunchy sweet apples in Michigan!
It might not seem like much for a whole week, but I do have plenty of frozen TJ’s meals in my freezer ready to go at all times. I’ve been really into watching Youtube Trader Joe’s, Costco, and Whole Foods hauls recently, so I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoy seeing other peoples’!
