3 Fall Staples Every Girl Needs | Autumn Trends

October 22, 2021

Finally Fri! What are you up to this weekend? I am heading back to our favorite brewery/orchard for some fun Fall activities with friends. As I plan my outfits for the next few days, the chilly weather has me thinking about how much I love versatile closet staples.

I know I talk about them a lot, but there are 3 staple pieces that stick out as must-haves for the Fall season. Incorporating staples into your wardrobe literally makes it so easy to plan outfits because most of the time, everything matches super easily. This makes it much easier to add a little bit of ~spice~ to your look with fun accessories and jewelry. Here are my top 3 must-have staple pieces:

Neutral Colored Fine Knit Turtleneck:

These go with EVERYTHING! For a very simple, casual outfit, throw one of these on with some jeans, sneakers and gold hoops. Create an elevated look by pairing it with a mini skirt, sheer tights, a blazer, and some cute booties or knee-highs. I also love layering a basic turtleneck underneath chunkier sweaters. Sometimes heavy sweaters get really itchy, so adding a layer in between the sweater and my skin really help to prevent that.

Fancy Leggings:

By “fancy” I mean something other than your Lululemons or basic Target cotton leggings. Something like a good pair of faux leather leggings or fleece-lined leggings are great basic staples that every girl needs. You’ll wear these for everything; under a big sweater, with a shacket, with a simple long jacket over top… they’re so versatile! You probably already wear leggings a ton, so why not jazz it up by making them faux leather or extra cozy?! Splurge on something that you’ll get a ton of use out of.

Open Lightweight Coat

My favorite one is from Zara! Find a good, neural, long coat that isn’t too fussy. Look for something that can be worn open (without tying, buttoning, or zipping it closed). That way, you can wear it for both casual and fancy events. I have worn my Zara one with both a hoodie/leggings and a cute dress/heels. Adding the additional layer will obviously keep you super warm and add a level of detail to your look.

I can link some examples of these staples in the “shop it” slider below this post for you! Any questions, just shoot me a DM on Instagram 🙂 -Cassie
